I stopped
beside Safeway. Never notices that before. It was the
light and the snow together on far mountain. What is
causing that ‘V’? presumably the underlying rock is different Or at least
‘lower’ than surroundings |

Traces in Time
This is the small island in Metlakatla Pass
(Garden Isl?) as seen from the air. I am told those are traces left by Tsimshian
canoes that were hauled up here for protection –75 plus years ago |

|
The snow gives
the hillsides more texture – we quickly note the slides |
A trace from WW2 |
|
|
Isn’t that
called a thousand stairs? The snow
track reminds us of its presence |

|
The sun /
snow brings out different features |
And across the harbour
|
|
The mountain
is often referred to as an old volcano Again the white
strip from peak looks to be a different kind of rock |
