When continents collide
During the past several years geologists have been coming to the Rupert area to probe deep into the
earths crust. If I understand it, the Rupert area is what the Himalaya mountains area may look like
once all those lofty peaks are eroded down to their roots. In both scenarios the mountains results
from collisions between terranes.

Continents colliding, mountains eroding away to mere stubs; so what?
If you're not intrigued with reconstructing mountains, then what about finding gold?
Take the most productive mine in the area: Eskay Creek: the latest models see it as originating from
hot springs and volcanoes under the shallow ocean when the terranes collided. Once you know that
you begin to look for similar tyupe formations.
