Flatfish in Hecate

 

Hecae seems unusual in that flatfish are predominant .

Why?
No one seems to ask but it must have something to do with the shallow mud bottoms—perhaps most the plankton sinks to bottom where scavengers and filter feeder not copepods doinate the food cahin.
