NETPEN Salmon Farming coming to North Coast?

Great Intro to North Coast marine systems

Written back in 1992 during the last salmon farming boom, this is an invaluable introduction to available literature--- everything here from geology to plankton.

Most important is the ‘rating’ of potential net pen sites.

While you might not be aware of this info you can bet Nutreco is

I did a newspaper article some years ago on this book, it does not work as well on WWW but still has good summary from North Coast perspective

Here are the Ratings

See the accompanying atlas to this work for better idea what each District’s best sites are

Haven’t got a copy??

This is a must have – Well written and paints our immediate future

Here is where to order copy

Title: Salmon Biophysical Suitability Study of the North Coast & Queen Charlotte Islands 1992      (presumably same as copy above, which has slightly different title)

Review Article

I wrote a journalism piece on the Biophysical some years ago; but it is still relevant, perhaps more so as last salmon boom ended in a long, silent bust
