Shell Breccia moves in & out

It wipes slate clean when ‘in’ – thus chance to study re-colonization

 

 

Following barnacles and limpet ‘spat fall’ is main idea here – but this page shows seasonal changes in algal cover – barren in Feb – to covered w Acrosiphonia by June  – and then mostly  ‘burned off’ by  August

As above and right, the Ulva has flourished while Acrosiphonia declined
