Hypothesis

Blame it on SST???

Does the elevated seawater surface temperatures (SST) ‘cause’ the drought?

Here we see last 30 days precipitation for PR is associated with strong anomaly off shore in the Pacific—cause and effect?

How about for the last 90 days?

NOAA original here

Archive of Monthly anomaly SST

So it Rained in early April

April seems the least anomalous of series

Interesting correlations but superficial
Anomalous SST & ‘drought’ is suggestive but may be confusing cause with effect. Why is the ‘drought’ localized in PR area? Terrace and Smithers are above normal

precip

How localized is the ‘drought’?

SE Alaska is  also in drought

How about the Past Year?
