It ain’t the Tropics Corallines are
not winter hardy --- on image left the areas lower in intertidal have gone
unscathed – but looks like when exposed long to air and cold the tissue dies

have stippled in this low tidal pool which again has the tissue that was
exposed to cold air (above pool level) being damaged |

Here is a
coralline from lower intertidal that did not have such severe damage with
only apical segments being damaged
