And it keeps snowing

But relatively warm too

Seems unusual for all this snow

And of course from a pedestrian’s viewpoint

Seems like the City’s first priority is to get main roads ‘ploughed’ – and then to clear downtown sidewalks and many bus stops --- but as on left there is often no place for a pedestrian to go but in the street --- still crews not as bad as some years for heaping snow on sidewalks

Hemlock in front of spruce at Civic Center

Of course spruce branches hold snow too – but perhaps ‘designed’ to lose it faster (thus able to utilize winter sunshine(?)

Messages the snow might send

I like looking at patterns the snow makes --- what is the message here? All those trees of different ‘color’ – here seemingly in a line in picture below.

Perhaps trees at Civic Center provide a clue – the darker spruce behind and the hemlock with snow on branches --- I’ll bet those trees at black arrow on mountain are also spruce – perhaps others Hemlock? – would have to go up and check out

Previous ‘Traces’

More messages to decipher

Notice at 1 how seems to be semi-circular? As if a previous slide or even a sea-shore (beach) at a previous water-level – and seems to be ‘continuous’ with 1b and 1c (thus a previous slide?)

--- but similar to 2 --- thus back to beach and water height--- thus 2 hypothesis (among others) to test

Plan B?

After losing its attempt to rezone Seaport building (my previous) I hear the school still wants to put an alternative school downtown – but has found some other location --- perhaps here? Or the old Forestry building?

Time will tell

Public Eye

One has to sympathise with the police – they are called to ‘clean up’ after so many incidents – here they had a young man out side talking to him – the fellow had no clothes on except jeans and shoes (but did not seem to be feeling any pain)

When the officers saw me taking these pictures, one of them came over to talk to me – demanded I show ID etc ---

At one level I think they were afraid I would put images on internet – the constable told me that would be illegal as the fellow was a ‘juvenile offender’

One thinks back of the Taser-ing death of Robert Dziekanski in October 2007
(
See CBC: ‘No Charges against RCMP )

Probably nothing would have happened then if someone had not made a video of the tasering.

So what is the answer? In case of fellow with no shirt being questioned --- probably after separating combatants (if that is why called in first place) – then next step would be to get the fellow a coat – or put him in a police car, there must be a procedure for these kinds of things.
