Using September SSTs

to follow global warming

Comparing 2000-2007 SSTs

 

Of course these monthly SSTs are high level abstractions --- but trends can be seen --- and while September 2007 looks like part of series – the warming in Arctic (using 0°C contour) shows better using anomalies charts

 

Using 15°C – September 2005 was warmest of series (arrow)

Using 10°C line most reduced area during strong El Nino

Using 10°C & 15C° these years similar – 10°C hardly penetrating Arctic waters

Global warming and SST in N Pacific

The point of this is to look for biological changes from year to year and correlate with SST
