Rupert in Drought

Less rainfall than

Terrace or Smithers

Who would have thunk it??

What is Happening here??

Source of data is NOAA global precipitation time site

Comments

Heavy rainfalls in Terrace and Smithers (1, 2, 4, 6, & 7) seem to be answer with Smithers (2, 4, & 7) getting highest – note seems to rain some each of these in all 3 locations --- thus not an unusual shower that originated locally)

Total actual precipitation for PR = 7.2 while long term average is 13.2 inches for these 90 days) – same formula for Terrace 7.8/ 5.9 etc

Strange Summer?

Note PR used to have 3 weather stations measuring precipitation – Airport, Montreal Circle, and Mount Hayes --- the point is that they would all be different  amounts === only a ‘system’ of rain coming off Pacific would give all reporting stations similar readings ---

Bragging Rights?

Still how many times will you see Rupert having less rain than Smithers AND Terrace over a 90 day period
