Gale to Storm force

Brings snow to PR

Offshore system brings strong winds and ‘snow’ but interesting how it seems to sit offshore and dissipate over 48 hours

Presumably explained as under immediate influence of Jetstream

Gusting 48 MPH at Holland Rock in Harbour

Only about 25 of last 75 days below freezing this year (see monthly for PR airport)

System passed North Nomad at 6 AM

Gale to Storm Force – strongest winds off SE AK

Interesting sequence of events here --- the system seems to sit stationary over last 24 hours (as if tied at its SW and NE ends while the middle slowly dissipates --- because of Jetstream coming to us from AK it reduced temperature enough to get snow – before rains removed – look back at 13th image for ‘beginnings of system – note how ‘toe’ at 180W almost stationary over three images – also the turn in jetstream at 165W
