Much stronger than last Nina in 2006

I use the Nino-Nina graphic (see my earlier for reference)

to judge its strength and find it as strong as any recent event –

thus presently most similar to 2000 Nina

Suggests it will be with us until next summer – keeping regionally cool and snowy – unfortunately the AWOS data does not extend back to 2000

	Using graphic above see that January 2000 was strongest Nina in recent times – luckily the archive goes back that far
	Looks like present Nina is as strong (if not stronger) as January 2000 Thus perhaps it may help us ‘predict’ how/ when present Nina will ‘mellow’ out

	Nina 2000 only began to weaken in April
	And it was only in July began to warm up along North Coast
