	Is the economy really this bad?

What is behind the down-turn in Rupert’s economy?

Judging by all these businesses shutting down, it looks like we are full inot local recession.

Perhaps there are other explanations. The economy is low but the prices of real estate have stabilized and shown slight increase (data later)

There is lots of small construction around town.

I believe the economy has turned, perhaps last summer and is now moving upward. Real Estate prices mirror Terrace’s so the turn around is not due to purely local causes

Resource economy up and downs

The changes in EI have had a profound effect on town’s economy—perhaps to tune of 20 Million dollars
