Almost as entertaining as the Weather channel Councillor Rowse wins one (‘I have been a proponent of
Basso from the beginning’) Councillor Kennedy looked good trying to find middle
ground in the LRMP- Tourism debate. Ireland going to sue Basso and others?? |

Life Support? |

Councillor
Greene looked unwell with tubes attached to his nostrils, but he was mentally sharp and was the most
effective one there getting “his agenda” through Council (LRMP, Tourism, etc) Plus he
seemed to be the only one present who would match their skepticism that Basso
re-zoning proposal was in public interest and Vote NO Good
for Paddy, |

Tourism
Battles unwelcome ‘partner’ |

Not only did
last meeting of LRMP see arrival four new seats representing local
governments (or Liberal supporters?) but in a curious and unsavory affair
Steve Smith asked Council to back local operators as the only legitimate
spokesperson and holder of Tourism seat. Smith failed to mention the matter
is being arbitrated and so far his group will have to share seat. |

What if the
mill doesn’t re-open? Don Allan gave
his preliminary report. I am told a more in depth report has been approved which
will be done by forestry analyst C. Widman (date??) SCI has a
new set of eyes watching Council in ex-TK journalist: Below the replacemtn
journalist gets footage of Basso in audience during meeting. |

Council was
mainly interested in Fairness for any future business that might want to set
up down here. The drawing is from Council
handouts and presumably will be beside this new Port’s structure. In photo
