Historian Ken Campbell had seen earlier photos of the bridge
and directed me to the Prince Rupert City and Regional Archives
From
road (left) it looks like a wall --- but when seen from side it is
recognizable as some kind of ‘Ramp’--- see lot 1 below
|
The city has purchased in anticipation
of modifying access to the cruise dock two properties for $630,000, I
have been told
|
Presumably new access roads will be
built and the properties later sold |

This
is a 1925 photo; amazing quality given nature of airplanes and cameras of the
time. |

Gone by 1937
|
|
The Ramp is
still there but the bridge over the train tracks is gone. The present
buildings all seem to be in place by this date. Later photos don’t show the ramp
so clearly as it becomes overgrown with vegetation from non-use. Thanks to
time, knowledge of Mrs. Barb Sheppard
