Patio on Sidewalk??

That is what they are looking for

  City Council request--

Several good concepts at play here—A ‘French’ Chef who will practice his trade here

The surrounding neighborhood already has numerous alcohol establishments and ‘night life’

Patio idea on public sidewalk is worth discussing – A ‘policy’ is being formulated by city

Implications

Patio??

Think of the implications

Will it be fenced in? Will they pay rent? Will liquor be consumed in the ‘patio’?

Who accepts liability?

Update: I am told that the tables, etc restaurants have on the sidewalks are given yearly permits with strict guidelines. Included is an insurance policy (2M$?) which protects city from liability

What about owners with Real Patios on their own property? This one presumably costs the owner to build maintain and pay taxes on

Well Done

Another Patio at a local bar – functional and with a good view of the harbour too—note the screens that are meant to keep children from viewing consumption alcohol etc
