Council mtg tonight

September 19th

Important but not ‘interesting’

Beginnings of a Police state?—or are Citizens in charge?

RCMP have ‘ordered’ City to build them a new accommodation

RCMP and ‘democracy’

Sewer line too small?

Flooding and heavy rainfall caused?

Magic Mushrooms in planter

Cruise ship – 2 more

Water in Water out?

And what about the 600T$ that was in 2011 Budget to fix cells etc?

With no public discussion – (all in-camera?) Citizens are left with going to a referenda rather than discussing the options

Here would be a more productive use of Citizens’ time --- vandalism

Another week-end, another broken window. But never mind, build the RCMP better and more jails cells –just don’t ask nor question their ‘orders’

Here is a topic Council won’t discuss

So why was the new pumping facility having to be pumped out itself? --- I suspect we will never be told officially --- I hear it was a goof up.

Prince Rumour

I hear the main pipe (the one going under the road—and out to Hayes Creek outfall – was under sized --- and to fix the ‘error’ would cost millions.

Hopefully it will only be necessary after ‘exceptional’ rainfalls

But we need to hear ‘officially’

And the same  heavy rain brought flooding etc

This is a house on 10th East (picture taken from Frederick St) ---- I hear the slide required inhabitants to leave house ---- there seems to be conflict between ‘neighbour’s’ too --- but all at rumour stage

Both from City weather site --- the ‘offical’ airport data unreliable – missing data etc

On left is from the day of ‘great rain’ --- I suspect it is a symptom of climate change – more later

Presumably an Amanita spp

Magic Mushrooms(??) in city planter on 3rd Ave --- most are gone by now

Only 2 more weeks of Cruise ship

Again we should have had a broader community discussion --- Is cruise tourism a good investment for public $$?

And the Rain cleared

As if by magic—the rains stopped and it became a very pleasant day (evening)

We also saw

I was told by staff that this sightseeing vessel was full --- 100 passengers (or including staff?) --- and this was soon after the Cruise ship had docked

Here is another ‘joke’ – we are not given enough information to evaluate – remember 5% increase in sewer rate? – a better piece of info would be how the 60-40 break has survived with the regime change – I suggest a shift to residential --- plus we don’t know how many of the Commercial have been changed over to meter – 75%??

Oh ya, Council meeting
