Good Council meeting

New Pellet loading plant announced

Lucio Sacchetti of CMC Engineering and Leroy Reitsma of Pinnacle Pellet

New Pellet plant discussed

House demolitions

Vinyl sidings discussion

Patient Voices and the rainy weather

Gordon Howie and Sheila Gordon Payne ‘shine’

While the announcement of the new shipping facility had to be the main story --- what was surprising was how much Howie and Payne were able to inject with either analysis or questions – more later

Good News for Rupert

Northern View has written up the story and its import to Rupert and I will not duplicate their effort --- thus 30M$ investment --- with half the 90T ‘man hours’ to be done in Rupert building the facility --- which will employ about 12 full time at first ---- Rupert export location combines well with this fast growing company locations as seen on map below

Recycling a previous grain elevator

Much of Lucio Sacchetti of CMC Engineering and Management presentation was on the lengths the company design going to to prevent dust and noise – especially given the location to residential properties (Water St to Graham Av)

$ silos to be built

See the red dots for location --- much better to review the presentation online at Video --- begins at approximately 22 minutes into the meeting (slide the bar)

That is the loader in middle

Again I note they were questioned closely especially by Gordon Payne (see Video minutes 50-56) When she asked if there was anything the presenters wanted they suggested a letter of support would be in order --- Gordon Payne thought it should go to community and then be sent next meeting – but her motion to Table was defeated 3-2 --- so letter was sent with unanimous support

Mr Salyn spoke of why unable to ‘finish building’

His plan was to try to sell it and recoup what $$ he could --- again Gordon Payne was there asking if City could suspend the demolition notice to get it off the deed etc – more later

Unfortunately Chris Proctor did not show up to defend his property

Again after some good discussion by Council it was decided to ‘tear down’ more later

The use of vinyl siding at Public Hearing to amend Community Plan began the meeting --- some interesting discussion prompted by letter from local heritage committee --- Zeno referred to page 40 of the Designs guideline (use link) where several ‘precincts’ – and vinyl sidings not to be used on ‘Heritage corridor’ etc --- see online from 7:50 to 10 minutes into meeting on Video recording

Short but useful

Will return later see info at patientsvoices.ca

Above is from the City weather site

Lots of rain --- but coming straight from Hawaii

Too bad ‘our’ airport too busy to keep the ‘official’ rain records --- many ‘missing’ making the totals ‘useless’

More later in Week
