Maury first Can’t Recycle Forklift Need new accounting software too Area
A & C and other boondoggles Amend
Area D OCP |
Maury
spoke first |
Maury drove down from Terrace to ask
how many remembered to "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" ‘yesterday’ (Thursday) |
This
interesting booklet also handed out
Lange,
Owen S. Living with weather along the British Columbia Coast: the veil of
chaos. Vancouver, B.C. :
Environment Canada, 2003. ISBN ISBN 0660189844 |
Then the
mail |
Mayor
Mussallem showed his advertised ‘most capable’ – by quickly getting through
these items – most Receive and File (R&F) I
have added some notes – example applications to Youth Parliament etc |
Tim DesChamp
from Recycling |
Need
a new forklift --- gave 3 options but given the hours on old one – not worth repairing
etc Usually
Tim would be ‘reporting’ on the last months stats --- but I hear that is
yesterday --- and the committee will not meet until the New Year --- that way
get rid of that pesky Jean Martin too |
Good News is
Seems
the Recycling doing so well that has accrued sufficient ‘surplus’ to pay the
31T$ from its ‘current year receipts |

This
was a very late item --- only this week learned the full extent of the ‘glitches’
in current software (see below)
Staff
recommended getting VADIM which is used by many BC local governments --- and
again – have $$ in current surplus --- though will wait till 2012 to
implement (continuity) |
With all the
changes in staff over the last few years – understandable that ‘system
degrade’ |
Here
is the VADIM software home
page |
Des termed
this PNCIMA Lite |
See
the excerpts I have made from the letter in the package below --- DFO ‘argues’
it has a time line that must be met (December 2012) |
IOAC why
that is ‘Integrated Oceans Advisory Committee’, of course |

We note in
passing that Area A and Area C RD Directors are uncontested (again) this year
--- |
Check out the map at SQCRD --- Oona River
population 37 – Dodge Cove population 52 The 1st Nations
(reserves) have all the population – but they do not participate in SQCRD –
More interested presently in Treaties etc --- But my question is how much Tax
$$ comes out of Area A and C --- more later |

Excerpted
from BC site on RDs http://www.cscd.gov.bc.ca/lgd/infra/library/regional_stats08_summary.pdf
I will
return to this later – note the pay we paid Koning in 2010 – almost as much
as the garbage people on Haida Gwaii |
How much Tax
$$ --- ‘hopefully’ City of PR paying nothing to support A & C |
Note
my excepts from 2010 SOFI for SQCRD – I note both Des and Karl earn more than
anyone save the chair ---- And Karl does not even attend the meetings that
often ---- but unopposed --- and check his expenses --- that is a lot of
taxes for a population of 37 to support ---- more later
Want to
amend OCP already |
Possibility
sub divide golf course into residential |
Here is
excerpt form the Agenda package |
MIMC
does a lot of the work over on the Charlottes I
will get back to this later |
And
I did not even get to Evan Putterill input for Sandspit --- Area E more
Wednesday --- and check out the SQCRD map
to see how small this Area is – and it’s population (390) |
Showery
