November 30^th	Council meeting
	Preliminary look—end of old

The agenda mainly written for the photo-ops --- but late items and question/ ‘comments’ changed the flow into something more interesting

· Medical Facilities Report

· Garbage over billing?

	Long service and end of service
	The Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal was created by a Letters Patent signed by the Queen on August 29, 1985—site gives image of the medal --- here presumably McKenzie awarded 20+ years service

And then there were the plaques for service --- Bedard 16+ years – Gordon Payne 6 years on Coucnil
	Councillor Thorkelson missed all the photo ops

	Perhaps because Bedard will not be back next meeting this preliminary Medical facilities report done
	Potentially the most significant information of the meeting – more detail later

Plus Mussallem said not only ‘questions’ but ‘questions, suggestions, & concerns’ from public could be brought forward to COW (Committee of the Whole) --- hopefully this will continue into the future	Question period from Public ‘broadened ‘
	Fairview Owner brought her ‘bodyguards’ – a complex file that appears to be an ‘over billing’ going back to 1986 when restaurant moved in from Co-op site to downtown – but the garbage bin/ refuse pick-up apparently not changed over to the 6 bags fee --- more later --- after video online

Presumably apprised of Salyn update later in meeting – a disgruntled neighbor asked questions	Questions brought out fight between neighbors too
	Brings up some interesting points --- I’ll wait for the Video to come online –Mold, health and appearances etc – more later

	And then there was the Jack monologue
	Went on for almost 10 minutes at the end of the meeting --- ‘inspiring’ --- more flight than attention --- my guess is that he was playing out the clock so ‘online TV’ would end closer to the hour mark --- thus saving cable viewers from listening to music

City does remove the snow at this bus stop at foot of the McBride St hill ---Best solution would be Highway ploughs not put snow on sidewalks in first place – should be an enforceable Bylaw in place.	McBride street snow hazard – sidewalks
	These shots are not from the really snowy day – but illustrate the problem --- snow ploughs push the snow up onto the sidewalk – (thus the gravel which may be left over from previous snowfall) – but hundreds of kids have to walk here to school ---City should plough sidewalks – someone will be hurt

	Using the Boulevard as private property
	Photo on left seems to show the gas station has usurped boulevard as their own parking space – but would need to see legal drawings as to where property line actually is Wouldn’t need that for the car on 3^rd shown above --- some days they pull in farther – should have to pay ‘rent’ much like a street patio does

	Good Fences make good neighbors??
	See online literary discussion --- here is between McDonald’s and motel --- fence got pushed down – kids use it as easier path So Motel took to pushing their cleared snow onto the pathway

Not only reminds us how close the freezing line is – but helps sketch out old slides – and cut blocks – rmemeber the Gondola?	Snow on Mountain – Tuesday November 29th
