March 7th

We See around PR

Lots of container traffic just now

Time to check on property we bought a few years ago

City crews more ‘thoughtful’ for pedestrians? – or burning up snow removal budget?

CN to enforce ‘no trespassing’?

Snow drop flowers show up in PR yard

A Little later than many previous years --- Link is to March 1st in 2009 and ever earlier in 2007

At last Council meeting talking about this property

Seems there is a fuel tank in basement and for some reason City wants to pay 25-50T$ to see if ground contaminated --- hopefully this is first step in selling the property --- It was purchased as part of the cruise ship dock work for – I heard for 450T$

Follow the Cruise ship dock project from here in 2003-2004

Of course the Cow Bay Parking lot lands were bought at same time

I wonder at the ‘value’ of removing the snow etc while giving free parking during the winter --- free parking should mean no snow ploughing etc

Here are the crews removing the street snow --- and what it looked like the very next day after snowfall

Speaking of snow removal --- City made great deal of removing all the snow along road sides --- just before the large dump

A gentleman (Mr B White (?)) spoke at Council meeting on how the city crews were making it very hard to walk on sidewalks etc in his neighborhood --- I noticed from then on City Crews making more of an effort to keep sidewalks ‘passable’ --- at left they are removing snow on 3rd Ave – the day before the big snow fall

Above is a few days later – luckily melted from grass area – where people could walk

The fellows ploughing the highway are not so conscientious

I would suggest a complaint be made – and a fine asked for – yes the highway is cleared – but ‘they’ are storing the (re)moved snow on the sidewalks – for free --- should be illegal

Tim Horton’s sign blew own in windy gusts

A fellow was walking along the street at ten minutes to 2 --- he stopped and looked in Tim Horton’s as he saw people waving at him --- next thing he knew the sign had fallen --- another few feet and he could have been in its path

At left the trucks are removing the sign

Rumour is

We hear that CN has stationed a ‘CN Cop’ again in PR --- they will enforce their no trespassing rules in the CN yard – perhaps down to 11th street --- Come to think of it we never did hear about the Train whistling report --- done (illegally) in-camera I bet

15 + eagles on roof etc

Often see congregations like this as assemble to go out to Eulachon grounds and first good feed of the year --- I suspect here though they were getting ‘free’ food from someone who ‘took pity’ on their plight when fresh snow covered everything
