I hear a new liquor outlet will be going in here – and all that excavation is for parking (no, not the new ‘mini-mall’ that has been suggested in past) --- presumably needs better economy so booze until then

 

 

 

More later --- note how Northern View has story on 163 calls for service ‘last week’ by RCMP --- I wish they would give us yearly stats etc

A referendum on borrowing $$ to build new fire station/ police station?

We need the discussion—debate --- But should rethink our options—combine Rural and PR RCMP? --- Combine ambulance and fire rescue?

Even more is to re-think the regional perspective—combine with villages for fire fighting etc??

SD site also says the info that: Tuesday, January 11, 2011, the Board approved a bylaw that is expected to lead to the signing of a lease for space at the Ocean Centre Mall. The Pacific Coast School would move into this space once renovations are completed.

And speaking of Web sites the School Board has put their ‘Statement of Financial information’ on line for 2009-2010 school year ending June 30th --- but just signed off on December 15th

So maybe they think that yellow line means it is reserved fro them?

 

I hear it is an ‘insurance job’

So the re-roofing from the storm of 10/10/10 is going slowly --- perhaps people being moved around

 

 

Removing snow from Sidewalks?

As I have previously complained – the City and its snow removal contractors push the snow up on the sidewalks – then City has the gall to as (order?) us to make sure our sidewalks cleaned --- here the City itself has not cleaned sidewalks outside RCMP etc --- but all that gravel does give good traction
