Rumours and RCMP

A city in decline --- I suspect all these cars have out dated licence plates --- they are all on ‘public property’ --- Who cares? Below is a licensed car that believes their comfort is paramount – parking on sidewalk etc

City in Decline theme

RCMP as stage props
But high crime rate and cost us lots of $$$

Wal-Mart 2

And across the street --- from all those unlicensed junkers using the front porch for a garbage dump

Been there for over a week

They should adopt the Chris Proctor et al strategy of putting their junk  in the alley and requiring others to prove who they belong to

Oh ya --- the property with stuff on front porch does not have an alley behind its property --- pity --- I am sure City Hall will ‘understand’ ---- I recently ‘reported’ someone destroying a car in an alley --- after clerk made numerous phone calls – decided it was a Bylaw infraction – and he was unfortunately not available

RCMP in dress uniform – pretend they are a Tourist attraction – providing photo ops for Cruise ship patrons --- picture Thursday August 11th

Meanwhile Rupert has one of the highest ‘crime rates’ in the Province --- but it was a nice photo anyways

While the online report only goes up to 2009

Even from here we can see that the highest criminal code offences were back in 2007--- and things seem to be improving since then

Data Source PDF
Not only do we have high ‘crime rate’ but we pay almost highest (per capita = 306$) to have the RCMP ‘protect’ us – more later
Terrace = 254$ and Kitimat 206$ per capita

Violent Crimes

Again peaked in 2007 ---- we really need more analysis for this to be useful—Bar brawls? Domestic violence?

Population ‘estimates’ and total number of Criminal Code offences

The number of ‘property crimes’ seems pretty steady over time

Cruise ship day

Again a good community effort – kids giving guided tours etc --- but the Cumulus clouds (arrow) would eventually turn into rain showers

Up drafts kept the kids’ kite afloat

Two young girls enjoying the winds --- we also see the penthouse is quickly becoming enclosed – it will be interesting to see if the ‘design’ will be able to stand up to the strong winds that will inevitably arrive this fall --- but I am ‘sure’ they thought of that when designing their status symbol

Looks nice --- but

I wonder how much the City got for this property? I suspect not nearly what was paid for it a few years ago ---more later

More Rumors

I hear when Walmart takes over – they ‘need’ more space – so some of the businesses on that floor will be ‘moved’ --- We will see
