From
the debates--- |
I am replacing my server – so may be off line for Wednesday
etc |
More
signs of the time |
The large number of candidates makes for an interesting
menagerie of signs around town --- lucky that few wind storms this time |
Got
to get that picture |
I thought the debates locally did not work well --- The
opening speeches too much time spent answering questions --- would have been
better to let the panel ask |
McDonalds repairs |
Here the menu sign is being placed using a tractor – while
the drive through not open yet – the lobby is --- I hear the renovations will
take until May 22nd |
And
across town – the Tim Horton sign put back up |
Took lots of machinery – but hopefully will be a
‘permanent’ fixture now |
Oliver’s
Market ‘closing’? |
Well maybe not --- looking to bring
in produce, etc from ‘up river’ – but ‘farmers’ in the Terrace area not set
up to produce for the Rupert market too --- thus unwilling to commit to wholesale---
but if arrangements made---- |
Rules
for everyone --- or just the non-elites? |
Typical
PR |
Here is a backhoe parked for days on 1st Avenue
--- who cares if only 2 hour parking? Not Bylaw
enforcement – but I have been told of people who had their equipment parked
in their own driveway and City ordered to remove --- ‘we only respond to
complaints’ |
First
salmonberry flower seen for the season |
Once I get the new computer up and going will try to ‘re-view’ the spring flowers etc |
I will return to this later – Is it a loophole in the
legislation that City can use ‘flow through’ donations – wile issuing a tax
receipt? Revenue Canada told me that one could not get a tax
receipt if directed where the $$ was to be spent --- note the fine print on
the City receipt --- puts onus on filer More later |
Another City Boondoggle???
