SQCRD Meeting and OCP

Full sky Rainbow –Thursday – before the winds came

SQCRD could have some fireworks tonight – despite its bland agenda package

MIMC and Recycling

Des in Conflict of interest?

Street Art goes innovative

SQCRD meeting tonight – 7PM

While the meeting itself has little to make you miss Friday night over --- as usual there will be controversies generated by Board --- first off the ‘firing’ of MIMC members on Haida Gwaii --- then the cut-backs for local recycling which will translate into lay-offs etc --- Perhaps even the outrageous wages paid the CAO --- 75$/ hr +++

Seems like most meetings spent on QCI/ HG issues --- except there is always personnel issues – like firings or Koning back at 75$/ hr --- presumably thanks to Mayor Jack Muselman --- but then it is only taxpayer $$

What was controversial might only become motion to pass as MMIC seems to have already accepted re-instatement in principle

More later

Citizens need to pay closer attention to these kinds of things

Jean Martin has been on this ‘file’ for over 15 years --- She was at Council this week – and now is a chance to ask the SQCRD why they are ‘saving’ $$ out at Recycling while hiring an extremely expensive ‘temp’ to fill in as Acting CAO --- could prove interesting – but I attribute it to Jack’s doing

Waste Watchers

This is part of a flyer that will be delivered to all PR residents – listing the opportunities to Recycle etc ----- Note too the Electronics Stewardship Association of British Columbia which has a good web site and could make a huge difference ---- now if there were only fines at the landfill for trying to dispose of this stuff

And why doesn’t the SQCRD and Recycling have a ‘good’ web site?

I will argue next week that we are seeing an increase of potential ‘conflict of interest’

Bedard at last Council meeting –now Des

Des is employed by T Buck Suzuki --- but he is going to ‘represent’ the SQCRD at PNCIMA --- I remain dubious how he will fulfill the 2 jobs without conflict

What if this house were to add a porch roof?

But these house approach street by less than 12feet

For first look Council meeting then 2nd where Ticky Tacky sameness explored

And most of the complaints from 2008 about the next door adding a 2nd floor came from this person who is now actively selling house

I Note too that person on left has a greenhouse on public property

More later

One Law for All??

As I noted before this business owner has the trailer ’permanently’ parked beside a one hour parking sign --- to my thinking anyone getting a ticket for over parking should ‘sue’ the city or some such for discrimination

Panel right is detail from above

The Street Art just continues to evolve – I like Raven as a shrimp (lobster?) --- and the almost cartoon like character at yellow arrow etc

Even the trees

This Hemlock has a branch that found lots of sunshine --- so it seems to be expanding it ever more and more – eventually this ‘encroachment’ should lead to the weakening of the limb and its demise in a wind storm etc
