September 20th

Council meeting tonight

Could be long –bus some interesting topics

Extraordinary weather continues – as down south gets ‘our’ rain

Note how long the in-camera meeting

And only one topic – thus Watson Island I presume --- Belsey seen around town recently so perhaps a resolution at hand --- I am told by one observer that over 15M$ ‘equipment’ could be sold off – but legality whether ‘fixtures or chattel’ – thus the court case etc as the sums are not inconsequential

I find this one particularly ‘funny’ --- first I was previously not even told the address as ‘top secret’ – now the blue prints are on the agenda etc

2nd it epitomizes Zenosauria approach --- Parking is required --- that these peoples’ cars could be out in open etc – and presumably would not be driving if trying to stay ‘unseen’ etc ---- More on Zeno-sauria later--- or how PR living in the1950s rather than 21st Century

And much of the meeting taken up with Development Permits etc ---

Plus several delegations to bring up community matters – but for me the key ‘event’ will be SMFCA and City ‘signing on’ --- I am dubious of this – smacks to me of when Mayor Monaghan in Kitimat appeared on an Enbridge video etc

One Law for everyone?

Here is what irks me about the establishment in PR --- one law for most people but ‘exceptions’ for Businesses etc --- arrow points to a one hour parking sign ---

I saw City staff (Planner etc) outside this building talking to a local contractor – presumably the City is going to do the sprucing up if the owner won’t --- but raises numerous issues--- when did Council give the OK? – Presumably other business like those at right complied – more later

Nuisance Bylaw in action?

While new canopies etc – the tree on the roof remains --- at base of arrow

And more clean up

These guys had to get a lift to clean up the really hard places

Terry Fox Run

Lots of people attending – the good part was that many of them wee youth etc

Log ship – in back ground – taking away potential jobs(?)

But in foreground are those properties that City bought when developed Cruise ship facility --- Now that NIS has moved – not even getting rent

More later

For previous on cruise ship back when it was a vision thing see below or here

Think Pink

I saw Rudy Kelly in jail --- but presumably citizens sprung him as met him later downtown

Some say the beautiful weather will last through Tuesday
