We See – Harbour front

Crossing the line? – or making one? Painting highway Monday

Councillor Joy Thorkelson has long asked Council for more attention to our waterfront --- as both tourist attraction and potential industrial sites etc --- her I take a look at CN and the foreshore

But first, I see the ‘cracks in foundation ‘filled in’ --- and now the paint is added

And the finished product looks good – Hardly miss the Epicurean at all now

I did notice that it was City Crews that were mowing the lawns in the area --- still more has to be done

Railroad heritage slowly slipping away

The old CN and Via stations were potentially going to become a tourist attraction --- but when the current Via contract not ‘won’ the property looks increasingly forlorn --- This is a significant Tourism attraction that is slowly being lows

See my earlier when City was selling to developer etc

I have earlier years of this and will have to compare with above to see how fast eroding – I see CN(?) has added some smaller rocks to the foreshore to presumably slow down the erosion

And the seas are slowly eating away at the foreshore

Sewer outfall project

I followed this site in summer 2007 – went back to see how much things had changed --- but as later in year – can’t make any conclusions --- such a hot summer that much of the algae (focus) gone – when I looked at site before the green algae was only on other side – perhaps because then spring and now fall

Note the ‘outlier; of Fucus (arrow) that did not burn off

Interesting patterns but because did not go there earlier in year no conclusions --- this might have been one of the areas where seepage was happening from the wall of outfall

I will have to check my earlier photos—videos

Looks like winter storms have taken their toll on this side of the outfall – with chunks beginning to fall off etc – See my earlier files for what looked like in 2007(and links at end of that file) --- here is my latest – August 2007 when still lots of Fucus etc

Here is one of the more significant ‘files’ for Northern BC ---- The Prosperity Mine and Fish Lake --- these were from Taseko files

Here is the Federal Revue 7.2 megs– here is one page summary
