Community Meeting -- winds

Again interesting but not many community members show up

Gusting winds tear off some roofing --- see City Hall weather

Community Meeting ‘interesting

Vandalism this last weekend

Above are the times of Peak winds and to right are the times when barometer bottomed out – at approximately same times

But first a look at predicting winds

The City hall Weather site is very useful

On web site the graphs of pressure and wind speeds together --- thus the relationship between barometer ‘bottoming out’ and wind speeds clearer – note there will usually be a shift in wind direction too as the ‘low’ passes

Green is barometric pressure – blue is average wind speed and red = speed of gusts

From Hecate Straits buoy

Suggested schedule

Mayor gave a short introduction and then to the tables – most people stayed at same table an hour or longer

All the Councillors but one were at this meeting – three were at the Community Policing table

Very informative

I will work up the material for Friday --- Inspector Kilburn gave a good over view – and several business owners spoke to their problems and suggested solutions

General Information had next most frequented table

Gordon Howie table

These windows presumably broken out Friday night --- for certain the one below was according to a clerk inside

Civic Pride was out this week end collecting waste around town and empty lots etc

Tricorp has been particularly hit over time – more later
