We See--- Car show

Empty Lot at 3rd and McBride gets a car show on Friday---- Now if the owner would only turn it into a parking lot

Vandalism Friday Night

This car has had its window broken out --- and presumably another car window’s glass at 2nd arrow ---

Plus just down the street Slickers has 2 windows ‘busted’

I see 4 more windows broken downtown but not sure if Friday night or not ---- After almost no breakage all summer – now that RCMP bike patrols end --- so does the ‘truce’ ---- I heard the culprit might have been arrested

Slicker’s windows hit the same night

Owner tells me that a special plastic on inside window meant he does not have to put up plywood sheeting because so strong the plastic can hold the window until repairs come --- 500$ deductible insurance etc

Artists just keep on refining their creation

I will have to get up close to see what they were adding to painting

We See repairs to exterior of old Home Hardware store --

Note the arrow – seems the building ‘different’ to right of arrow – and that is where most the repairs have been made – I got interested in this when informants mentioned the front of building seemed of wood but the sides and back of concrete --- which took me to Archives to see if we could find some earlier pictures

This image from the 1950s Wrathall collection

But look at this image

Note there were 2 stores in the building --- and a drawing says the Masonic Hall is upstairs

Windows on 5th street look same but front totally different – thus the wood.

Can see the small H W Store behind ‘Union Bank’  in photo above

The image to right is from the back of the building where the ‘stucco’ has been removed – presumably showing the original concrete pour levels (arrow)

Concrete building --- one of first in Prince Rupert says Archives annotation

We See plywood gone and new windows

Hopefully ship exchanged (ballast) water before coming into harbour

IOANNIS THEO emptying its bilge water into harbour in preparation of taking on wheat

the Sickliest ones are spruce – though Hemlock and Cedar and even Pine in the picture

Something is killing Spruce trees locally  – perhaps these small Aphids(?) are the culprits

Cirrus clouds invading the sky

About 1:30 pm --- the cirrus leading in a system and it was raining by 5:30 --- note also the Cosco Containers in Rail yard

Forum to be held in PR next November 2nd thru 4th --- Registration must be done by October 20th
