It proved to
be an interesting meeting --- thought the agenda looked to be a real yawner
But First ---
city of Rainbows etc |
Ashley stars ---and there was a good discussion of what mere
citizens should be told about in-camera meeting topics ---- but many of them
simply don’t get it --- preferring in-camera to openness and transparency –
more later |
Remember
when Rupert was the City of Rainbows? |
Looked like
it might have been 180 degreer |
Gordon-Payne
absent --- But she was in building earlier |
So
I wonder what went on at the in-camera meeting – which began around 5PM ---
No wonder Sheila went home early |

Zeno shines
--- or at least the main show for the night |
Not
only was there a ‘defense’ of the ‘Design Guidelines/ and Parking rules form
OCP – but there was a Variance Permit with good drawings and colourful images
(more later) Even
the 2011 schedule brought some discussion |
Much of the meeting
was spent going through this list of six topics --- while Council/ Planner
were mainly pleased with themselves and voted for the status quo – with some
good discussions |
More
Wednesday |
Ashley stars
--- was on her game tonight |
But
Garon and even Mussallem had their moments --- and saw an unusual Bedard
almost becoming unruly ---losing her usual cool – more later |
We see the
‘shed’ torn down |
The
boards are down below behind the barricade – good show in that it would probably
have blown down the next storm --- and as it was on the (undeveloped) ‘lane
way’ --- would have been City’s liability |
And kids’
slide reappears |
I
saw them pouring a concrete foundation for it earlier --- makes you wonder why
it was taken away before – assuming it is actually the same slide (I’ll look
at earlier photos—but wasn’t the previous one more complex?) |
Snow on the
Mountains |
I
suspect it will disappear quickly with the next storm system – which is gearing
up offshore --- still it is a sign of things to come – and it is a La Nina
year – so winter predicted to be ‘colder’ |
