These
greening changes to OCP will come up for public hearing at may 25th meeting
Councillor Joy Thorkelson pointed out during the discussion that City already
had a GHG emissions report dating from 2007 consultants report --and this
should be used for PR baseline data the file
is still available online I question the GHG
emissions from electricity used here as PR is all Hydro (water) with only
back up dependent upon fossil fuels Note too that Solid
Waste emissions are not part of Bill 27 |

Action Charter and our commitment (City facilities) to becoming Carbon

Mussallem
did not want any commitments that might cost us $$ -- but it was unclear (at Council
meeting) if City signing on to the Climate Charter was legally binding (we
would have to buy offsets etc if not meet our goals whatever they might be) --
a reading of the Climate Action Charter found the following
