We See

Asphalt, and spring

So why strip off the Asphalt? Note too the For Sale sign

Pays to remove asphalt

Crews removing asphalt and taking it to the dump

As I hear the story --- Landlord Tenant dispute

I heard 2 versions: that the tenant either asked for a reduction in the amount to paid for leasing – or that there was a previous agreement to sell the tenant the property --- either way the tenant had paid some 50T$ for the paving of parking lot with some understanding about how they would get their $$ back ---- When the owner refused to (Sell? Give reduced rent?), the tenant decided to move – and take the parking lot with them --- has overtures of Watson Island – what is chattel and what is fixture?--- I heard the RCMP were called, but declined to become part of the dispute saying it was a civil, not criminal matter

We also see that Rain has decided to throw in the towel

Notice on door of the closure --- more later – but I suspect the lease’ for the patio on 2nd Avenue will now not be paid – and Patio not easily removed

Here is back in 2004 when originally being built --- and here is more generic article on patios dating from 2005 --- note the Bylaws on signs etc changed since the new OCP

Crossing over the property line:

Neighbour dispute gone sour

As I heard the story: note how the boat trailer has been moved to make parking the car difficult without driving over the curb

But then same neighbour’s roof is actually leaning against their neighbour’s house (pink arrow)

Council mtg Monday

Closing off part of 1st Ave E? --- Sounds like Mussallem planning on selling the SQCRD building again – More later

Here is image of another logging for a view and slide it caused along CN tracks to Seal Cove back in 2001 --- More generically here is OCP where slides dealt with – and links to others

And 2007 slides along tracks to Seal Cove caused by heavy rains

Typical Rupert move—cut down the trees to get a better harbour view

Arrow left shows a ladder against tree to top off the limbs before cutting down --- lower image shows the slides below where previous trees etc been cut --- sure asking for more slides later in year – but ‘I got a good view’ – and slides will only make it better

We See

Last Council meeting they were doing paper work for removing one ‘highway’ and making another in order to subdivide water lot and sell to Metlakatla --- I see the float for mooring boat has been moved from ‘City’ property onto own water lot

Spring coming on fast

Saw my first Salmonberry in flower Friday the 19th – and many more seen over weekend

On left the ‘Swamp cabbage’ across from Civic Center Parking lot on McBride I noted earlier --- planned to follow its growth – but a deer must have been reading the file as it was chomped off the next day
