Council Meeting

Excellent meeting

Meeting as symbol: celebrate century anniversary –plus agree to ‘start again’ --- renovate

Meeting was one of the more productive that I have seen

1st Dandelion bloom

Along with the renewal at City Council, – Spring is early outdoors too

(see bottom this page for previous dandelions as indicator of season)

Spokesmen not for 3rd Avenue property owners – but larger business community

From the buzz on the street before meeting, I was expecting ‘revolt of 3rd Avenue’ – instead we saw people trying to work with each other – seek out and accommodate all the divergent views, options and opinions

I will go into the substance of the discussion later ---

The outcome was ‘let’s form a committee’ but in good sense that seeks mutual understanding through dialogue

And meeting was played to a clapping and appreciative ‘full house’

As soon as the presentation was over—everyone but the media left

Perhaps they showed good sense – as nothing much of interest happened after that--- which is again symptomatic of what is wrong with this City Council

But then we got back to ‘business as usual’

SQCRD Budget Mtg

Budget input at SQCRD tonight at 5PM

It is your taxes that are paying for this

Note the deficit and the increased ‘Tax Requisition’ which means mainly PR

Note ‘deficit’

More later

More on Council & SQCRD meeting tomorrow
