Horse and
Buggy at Five Corners – I am told fellow used to be a contractor here in PR
before moving to Smithers |
|
So
where $$ go??—see below
|

|
|
CBC Morning Daybreak North show had interview
with Mayor today |
|
They were
discussing this building among others as examples of downtown facades --- the
broken window has subsequently been replaced – after going for many months
unfixed --- The absentee owner of this building (and 5 surrounding lots) is
obviously speculating that property values will rise (eventually) ---- one
would hate to see him ‘rewarded’ for doing nothing, with tax breaks
(‘revitalization’) – a better strategy would to increase his costs so he will
sell – perhaps to the City who could use all those empty lots for
parking |
|
|
And did this
‘sign’ get a permit?? |
|
How
long until it blows down? That is the rationale behind requirement to get
permits --- hope they have liability insurance |
|
Assuming
the 80$ per hour and a 40 hour work week (plus GST) that leaves about $2,000
for expenses --- thus I hear apartment rent (1T$/ month) and a per diem
totalling $9,225 which at 75$ per day makes for 123 days – which must mean
taxpayers have been paying her for week ends too |
SQCRD acting
CAO contract |
|
According
to the SOFI documents (my earlier) Koning
received $62,845 in 2009—and document left shows for only 4 months work --- I
calculate 18 weeks thus about 3,491$ per week |
|
And
wasn’t it Mussallem who at last Council
meeting was saying the cutbacks at Recycling were primarily because of an
‘operating deficit’? How
about a credibility deficit? See the end of this August 2009 for background |
So who is looking
out for PR Taxpayers? |
|
At
left is the tax requisition for SQCRD Administration charges ---Note in 2010
Rupert paid an extra $111T over 2009 Of
course none of the ‘responsibility’ has anything to do with Koning – she is
just a contractor--- what it does speak to is the Board’s decision to hire
John Farrell to be the next CAO – a person with no job credentials in local
government --- As Rupert has ‘control’ in matters financial (weighted vote) –
any ‘blame’ must go back to Jack Mussallem --- who has even championed the
idea of hiring ‘local’ (over ‘qualified’??). |
