roundtables – now in fall |

Hoteliers
were before Council in January too |
Perhaps the
‘Main Event’ was the presentation by hoteliers about sewer rates etc |
|
In
center this image is Dan McNeil, owner of Oceanview Hotel, who gave the
presentation to Council (see below). While the media in form of TK and
Northernview were present – this is the first meeting I can remember that a
PR Daily News reporter not there taking notes |
|
I spoke to the
first 2 of these issues --- clarification was given that City Council will be
deciding Revitalization exemptions not staff etc + I raised concept of Tax Shift as unforeseen consequence (more

Councillor
Gordon-Payne leaves chamber |
|
Sheila
has one of the better senses of potential ‘conflict of interest’ – so at mere
mention of some discussion on Hoteliers sewerage rates she left the chamber
until next issue --- but water and sewerage rates is complex issue and I will
do more on it later in week – note from Rodin report the current big picture
break down of revenue sources |
|

|
|
Rodin
carries meeting with reports |
|
While it did not
get much Council time the various reports on sewerage, BC Transit rising
costs etc carried the meeting – details later --- and note the ‘bottled
water’ gone as water in glasses offered at their dinner snack meal – and even
Rodin appears to be refilling his bottles |
