Council ‘finally’
gelling into a productive group For me Ashley and
Garon were the ‘stars’ – or perhaps their relative youth helping in this
gruelling endurance meeting that started at 5PM and went on after official
meeting closed – Watson Isl + Budget? |
|
Second --- hey they are looking/
thinking
Cut the golf
course down to size: $72,500 |
|
|
And Council
does matter |
|
Meeting
even brought out John Marogna from ‘retirement’ to ask questions and wanting to
have developers/ business community kept better informed --- especially on
items likely to cost them $$$ (here the zoning amendments and parking etc) I
will return to this later as deserves community scrutiny --- the parking
seems to me a throw back to the 1960s mindset --- and only Thorkelson dared
question the planners analysis |

|
|
Tell
us (staff) how to interpret this bylaw --- but better approach would be to
‘talk to’ Marogna and downtown merchants first --- I will argue later that these
onerous car orientated rules came in with Cow Bay and are now being applied
to whole City --- in contrast to a ‘Green approach’ which would ‘rethink’
transport etc moving towards public transit, sustainability (More later) |
|
More later |
|
|
So
the hospital is donating the Healthy Heart equipment to
the gym where City Staff etc will get free use of it --- while those heart
patients etc will have to pay big bucks to use the equipment – More later |
|
|
More on RMs
and Cs later |
