Shrug? Who cares?

Presumably not the City

Using public property for personal gain

At one time it was explicit in bylaws that signs, etc could not be placed on public sidewalks

But that was before we got the present business friendly council (3 of 7 associated with businesses on 3rd Ave)--- I suspect City taxpayers would still be liable for any lawsuits where injury etc ‘caused’ by one of these signs – or warehoused pellet stoves --- but politicos/ and Staff seem oblivious to any hazard

I don’t expect any announcements tonight – I am hearing next week at earliest

Dinner Served?

Council meeting begins at 5PM --- given the Bids for Watson Island etc – we can understand the long ‘in camera’ session --- Security of Property is presumably code for discussing who is looking after old pulp mill site – I am told the people put in by City in place of mill workers’ union are earning 78$/ hour --- about 50$ more per hour than union guys were doing the job (including benefits)

Ho Hum

This appears to be a technicality – but some other items on agenda (grants, etc) plus ‘off street parking (grandfathering) may prove more interesting

Note how this ship is emptying bilge water in harbour before loading --- to be expected in this stormy period of year --- but only if completely exchanged while in Hecate etc for local water instead of bilge water brought from Asia – which can easily introduce invasive species
