Taxpayer 3.2M$ subsidy to Civic Cntr
All Native
Tournament means filled parking lots and crowds downtown in stores,
restaurants and motels. City chose
not to rent Civic Center complex at reduced price claiming hard times
though allows own employees free access year round.—See ANBT request |

|
All Native fund
raiser: emptying 89 numbered basket balls which go down a chute where the
first to enter ‘wins’ --- and $$ paid to whomever had that number |

Is Rupert Racist?? |

Above
excerpt taken from City Prince Rupert Info package 02-10-10 |
Meanwhile
Friendship House did a survey |
|
Found most age groups did not use Gym etc because of $$$ -- as I said previously the high entrance fees act like a ‘gated community’ keeping ‘others’ out And this is a
facility Taxpayers subsidize to tune of 3.2M$/ year |

Cars parked
in Lot 2 are trespassing |
|
|
City
should be talking to DQ absentee owner who owns not only the old Dairy Queen building, but all those
empty lots on either side of his McBride building. Note those cars in lot 2
left (Credit Union’s ?) are trespassing (nothing paid to owner I hear) Easy
solution would for City to partner for public parking lots downtown etc |

El Nino year

|
Lots
of flowers blooming – birds even thinking about nesting etc

El Nino and
‘changed’ NC climate? |
|
I
would suggest most the poor salmon runs since about 2005 have been because of
a string of El Ninos which may be signalling a change in climate due to
global warming --- here I give the January SST graphs for comparison |
|
|
|
|
|
2010 El Nino
year – compare with 2005 |
Using
the 5 isobar line (blue arrow) gives clearest picture of warming – Coolong
off our coast |
Using 5
– looks like a gradual warming cooling 2005 to 2007 but using the light blue
arrow argues cooling till 2009 |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Left is from
previous where
using just PR Airport ‘reported’ temperatures |
|
Just as the SST monthly graphics are a
high level abstraction which – so the automatic airport data is patchy and unreliable
– but hopefully general trends --- thus 2007-2009 are coldest etc at airport
and 5 degree isobar SST |
