Perhaps the most ‘important’ but preliminary discussion of evening	Carrot or Stick debate on sprucing up downtown businesses

Why the change? Other than of course it is the law—but that never stopped them before from doing it ‘their way’	Again --- interesting dynamics – including a Board of Variance named – something I was told a few weeks ago ‘would not happen’

	Basic argument was the garage to be built for RV and storage etc was both too tall and took up too much area – Rejected by City Planner, but agreed to allow question to come to Council for appeal – and they agreed to allow it to go to ‘public notification’ stage – more later
