We See

Around PR – Council to barf

Sorry for the weak articles today

·        Use of public parking and fees

·        Epicurean coming down this afternoon

·        Mural finished

·        ‘Helpful’ public servants—and barf

Merchants want 2 hour parking – and more

See yesterdays City Council article

As I mentioned yesterday, Gordon-Payne suggested staff bring the issue back later accompanied with the other parking issues brought up by the 3 merchants --- the irony is that their reported reasons given staff to extend the 1 hour to 2 hours was because people waiting for a Doctor’s appointment – or an accountant’s appointment could not be sure of the 1 hour limit – sounds OK, but their 2nd ‘gripe’ is the 2T$ fee that have to give City if they are not able to provide staff AND Customers parking on site --- seems to be lack of logic here (except pure self interest)

Arrows point to back hoe --- the pink arrow to bricks – which bystanders bet would simply go to the dump rather than being recycled

Epicurean coming down – a day late but --

As I understand it Worksafe BC has said the large equipment can not encroach on site – or maybe it is only the front half of site (a basement below) --

Mural even more colourful

Sunny weather allowed presumably to finish the design – looks good

When I pointed out the dog barf to nearby City Staff

They did not hand me a phone directory as the ‘helpful’ clerk did yesterday – no this fellow provided me with the exact phone number I could call to talk to the supervisor --- again the irony is that the fellow who gave me the phone number is digging up the bricks on 3RD ---presumably to prevent a law suit by someone who might trip and fall – this is done every year about this time I might note – at what cost to City taxpayers?

Later – it came to me the fellow probably thought I would have a cell phone on me – and I assumed ‘they’ had a radio in the trucks they just arrived in – Sorry.

Civil Servants – or ??

I also mentioned it to this ‘gardener’ – who looked at me with disdain and went on clipping the hedge that must have grown at least 20 mm since she last did the clipping

Couldn’t make out the name of the ship
