We See

Council meeting tonight

Plus the spell of clear hot days looks to be coming to close with fog today – clear weather made for nice photography opportunities

·         Parking main item on City Agenda tonight’s meeting

·         Not Epicurean demolition and surely not Transition—where asbestos

·         What happens to Nisga’a pole at SQCRD?

·         And potential electrical fire hazard?

Fog came in Monday AM

Hot Weather over?

Above from City weather site which is much superior to the Airport – while the latter ‘official’ seems to have been put way down list of priorities --- data usually missing etc

Pretty ‘ho-hum’ stuff – but then it is the dog days of summer

With Garon on Council parking ever more ‘important’ see the Boulevard study and links from my previous

More Parking

But good the more controversial parts like ‘Revitalization’ put off until September – perhaps a topic for one of the forum discussions – or at least after PREDC finishes its inventory downtown buildings etc

Epicurean may be discussed

I am told ‘work’ will start Tuesday thus removing the need for Council to ‘order’ it done – There is a ‘valid’ excuse in that most the equipment in town presently tied up with ongoing projects – like demolition of BC Housing unit

Those bags are a sure sign that Asbestos was found – and that not allowed to thus re-purpose the original buildings --- I am told mold and ‘sick building’ may have also been found --- previous tenants felt effects etc --- But Idon’t see Asbestos safety suits etc (see my previous on Legion demolition)

So why didn’t they use the previous building for Transition housing I had previously asked --- the answer in those white bags

Sale of SQCRD property (owned by City)

I am tod this is the 4th copy of this Nisga’a pole --- is it appropriate it goes to Lax Kw’aalams? – and what about the petroglyph in front? See my previous where said to have originated in Observatory inlet

Link to announcement on new unit

NWCC Mobile Training

When I talked to them they were just back from teaching first Aid etc at Lax Kw’aalams and New Aiyansh

Presumably the artists from the Kids Hut drop in center – the mural effective when viewed coming up the street as on right as looks like that is what at ‘end of road’

More Murals appearing

More interesting would be to use this slope for something more productive – like edible berries etc

A danger to buildings?

Presumably a BC Hydro problem – the power wires to 2 Third Ave buildings running through the tree – where winds etc could potentially cause electrical fire

St John’s Wort weeds common in PR just now

Deer says the ‘vehicle’ on right has precedence – read your manual

Rules of right away

Perhaps an end to glorious sunsets for a while

And where did the haze Sunday come from – presumably upriver forest fire
