More this weekend

Cruise passengers not far behind

The annual putting up of the banners – which will hopefully direct Cruise passengers past the run down, boarded up store fronts on 3rd Ave and towards the Museum etc --- but not the line up of winos etc killing off bottle cheap booze

Banner-gate from April 2008 when ‘Way finding’ first replaced local art –and few days later a reprieve for Kids banner art

A ‘poor’ tourist camped out in Cow Bay parking lot

This is one of two motor homes – taking advantage of free parking brought to them by compliant City Council

Is Recycling Accountable?

We hear that Recycling is going to shut down on Saturdays – presumably to save money – and not inconvenience the staff with working weekends --- I hear the issue will be brought up at SQCRD meeting tonight by local Environmental groups and citizens etc

Beware of Wolves sign went up on Moresby Trail Thursday

Burning Trash without a permit?

Big bon fire of lawn waste etc --- Yes I have a picture --- but they seem to do it with impunity --- so why bother reporting to City

The Gym window restored

Presumably owners were able to find a pane of glass in town large enough to replace window after only a day

More later – SQCRD meeting tonight and more on BC Book Prize Authors
