Council meeting

Going through the motions of being relevant

While there was more content to meeting than during summer --- a Mussallem council appears to be all about details with no big picture or vision

More later

Most the presentation was from northern Health’s web pages --- more later

Gordon Payne goes to other side of tables and gives a presentation on – communication

In many ways this was the ‘highlight’ of the meeting – so you can guess there was not much substance --- but what does it tell us about a Mussallem Council?

Community members in a health advisory committee were replaced by Council – and now we mere plebes are instructed how to get our message to our over lords at Northern Health

With Hays statue looking on

Note in this image that Councillor Thorkelson is missing --- thus no long discussions of the fishing season, nor allocation battles with up river 1st Nations and Conservationists

Meeting was over in an hour

Four short presentations by those seeking tax exemption

More on this later --- we will see if all the exemptions have to make a presentation

Both these moved to next meeting --- with no discussion

Calling the Kettle Black

I tried to ask a question about City’s strategy for reducing crime and vandalism during ‘Public Question Period’, but Mussallem was soon interrupting me --- seems he thought I was rambling with irrelevant information – and wanted succinctness --- now who is it that gives his trip itinerary item by item at end of meetings? – though this time he had pared it down to about 3 minutes of monotony
