City Council meeting

First look

It wasn’t that boring---

Stratifying 2 of Macro property’s was central event – and Council did its duty well

Tax Exemption and DPA discussion were significant and will dealt with later

Most the interest here

There were up to 15 people to hear the ‘Townhouse’ stratification part of meeting

Saint John Ambulance

Larry Odegard & Janet Mackenzie give power point presentation --- note Ashley’s laptop and going paperless initiative (more later)

Here is the real meat of the presentation

Marine Safety Centre ---

But note too the relationship to Councillor Bedard’s Hecate Strait

More on this later

Macro Properties rep answers question

The discussion of the stratification of 2 Macro properties were at the core of the meeting --- I will go into the details later but here say that both Council and Macro did the right thing’ --- Below is a long time tenant J Park who at 89 did not want to have to move etc ---- after discussion promises were made that she would not have to (more later)

And then there was the Official Seal

Note this was another Bedard initiative ----

While there was some talking – not sure of the ‘import’ this ‘Child Friendly City’ ‘proclamation’

And then there are the taxes

Good discussions here by Council and a promise to revisit the ‘logic’ behind these ‘permissive’ tax exemptions ---

And then the Discussion

Mayor gave his usual 10 minute description of his numerous travels and meetings with various cabinet ministers etc --- He was so concentrated on his ‘report’ that he tried to close the meeting without asking other councillors if they ahd any reports etc
