We See

From Via to Watson

Note the crane on top Mt Hayes –constructing new repeater station I hear

Good news gossip – A local 1st Nation has put in a bid for Watson Island at 13M$ or more

If true then it will put PR politics in a totally different perspective --- in its favour is that China is flush with US$ which it might wish to get rid of quickly before inflation etc eats away its value

Another local observer said: ‘This sounds like a development to PONDer.’—More Later

For earlier on Sidewalks as ‘public property’ being usurped by local businesses

Free outdoors heat?

The wood stove was ‘lit’ and going full blast – the owner berated me for taking a picture and ‘requested’ I walk on other side of the street from now on --- but he does have a point --- if Cowpuccino can use the sidewalk as a free patio (While others have to pay) – why can’t he use ot for his wood stoves? – Good question – I would suggest liability for starters --- but the fellow was in no mood to discuss anything

I hear Via will be moving back to the ‘old CN station’ by next spring --

More on this later but will be a plus for the community if/ when it happens

Mall Wall being built

Good fences (walls) good neighbors make?

H1n1 and long line-ups

Thursday there was a 3 hour wait --- line-ups out into the street etc

City Revised budget online (misspelling and all)

Report to Council - City of Prince Rupert Proposed Ammend 2009 Financial Plan (Nov 9, 2009)

Some interesting topics here --- like the million dollars we put into subsidizing airport – and look at the roads budget (an obvious mistake – but hey these are the guys that lost 5M$ because of a clerical mistake etc

And note how we spend less on public transit than Public works vehicles – hard to make our GHG reductions of 20% using that kind of ‘direction’

Santa showing good sense and walking
