We See

Storms & vandals

Well the ‘greenhouse’ survived the first winds but not a real storm – I hear it crashed down on street around 9AM – luckily no cars hit etc

Mall & gas station replace wall

Winds out at N Hecate buoy peaked at 65 knots

Lots of minor storm damage around PR

Siding, roofs etc gone

I am told this siding was just put up a few months ago --- We Hear that a roof torn off on Summit Ave etc --- but most wind damage as at left --- minor

As usual signage first to go in ‘storm season’ along with minor tree and branch damage

Tree branch at 1 – while CityWest crew installing Seasonal lights etc – Overtime??

Greer & Bridden ‘uncovered’

While the tearing off of the siding was common damage – this one has both its ‘historical dimension’ (revealing previous businesses), but also introduces the ‘so who owns it now?’

As the (Atlin parking lot) sign on the left shows it is one of the properties purchased by city when cruise ship dock built --- Notw there is a building Mussallem should try to sell instead of SQCRD

And it would not be a week end if the bar crowd had not broken some window --- there is a can lying on floor inside etc --- the fence could be vandals but so much damage done in Mariners Park from wind that unlikely ‘kids’ etc

More Later

Climate Change

While the flow at Usk on Skeena River was pretty ‘typical’ (following the dashed ‘mean’ pretty much) note how the ‘droughts’ in late August (yellow arrow) and through October (red arrow) affected flow --- and perhaps any migrating salmon prone to higher water temperatures/ disease etc

Light fixture at Liquor store

Harder to see – but looks like it will not last the next wind storm – the sea gull presumably taking a closer look
