We See

Spring at hand

Dandelions in full bloom – and the Norwegian Star – first Cruise ship of season

Norwegian Star

Innlander destruction begins – after all asbestos etc removed – Done by 15th??

Pay Parking?? – It’s a long story – First they will pave the Rushbrooke lot (ready now?) – then signs etc

Pay Parking coming – but poor planning as known about necessity new rates for months

And Council will set rates for Cow Bay

Unlike the waterfront– here they don’t want people parking all day – so will have to approve new rates at upcoming Council meeting I am told

Plus there is the question of signage – both that have to pay, and that meant primarily for tourists –plus signs telling tourists should drive to it from McBride St. etc

This is the way they do it in (north) Vancouver

Budgets

I was told main reason the format has changed was so that Treasurer could understand all the nuances of the system – so implemented his own system.

Plus as I understand it most the detail of budgeting done by staff and Council only dealt with high level data – similar to what public given

Now if they would only ease off on all those in-camera meetings

Monday will be next Council meeting

Did you notice how there were 3 times that Councillors excused themselves from a motion last meeting? Ashley’s advise (from a lawyer?) seems to have been heard by the others as they have modified their previous behaviour
