Home Hardware closing – to reopen in Mall

Gary said that he has been offered a position in the new Home Hardware

Which good to hear they treated him fairly after bringing in a larger store etc

Survival of fittest

Note how aggressive the poplar(?) is ---- not only rubbing off bark, but seemingly gouging into wood itself

Seen 5 corners area

Here is the LORAM web site

Time to grind the rails

CN worker told me that these specialized units ‘grind’ rails that are worn by usage over the season – not CN but independent company that comes from US – wants to do the grinding ‘just after the snow melts off’ because there is a potential for setting fires when vegetation drier --- from hot metal as grind etc

Mayor out sweeping sidewalk in front oh his building on 3rd ---- Did I see him sweep it all off into curb lane of street?

Signs & Sweeping

With the sign practically blocking sidewalk – guess can’t expect Mayor to enforce the ‘no signs on sidewalk’ bylaw can we??

Plus he had an old washer sitting outside (on his property(?) at yellow arrow – Bylaw officer told him to take it inside – public property – I was told

Bylaws enforced here though

Store owner told he can’t park in alley – City property – so had to park down street

Hays Creek sewer line breaks

Looks like a quick patch job here

Note the downed trees in background – some serious wind throw trees along trail

Sweeping up rocks

Might be a little early as more snow predicted later in week

The arrow shows where sweeper passed and left ‘gravel’ on 11thSt
