SQCRD Mtg

‘Old bays club’ at
taxpayers expense???

A couple of delegations (one of which did not bother to show) – and the Annual Audit – which nary drew one comment

Then back to the pub???

Oh ya, there was the matter of 1110 derelict vehicles in Port Clement

And Travis did resign

More on that tomorrow

Mayor MacDonald (picture above) speaks to the proposed ‘Bike Trail’ from PR to Port Ed—while Port Ed interested in project did not want construction nor maintenance to be done by Port Ed as insufficient staff – perhaps a contractor to look after the full trial suggested – but since PR has not commented on project tabled till next meeting

North Pacific Cannery – and local taxpayers

While this is a significant heritage site (for European exploitation of area—thus compare 120 years with 3000 years of say Pike Island etc)

It is subsidized by local taxpayers (mainly PR) to the tune of $88,551 --- And this is same group that failed to show up at Friday meeting and failed to provide requested paper work ---- but while taxpayers pick up the tab – old boys look after each other

------------------------------------------------

Note the increase over 2007 for Electoral Areas – that may not even include their Gas Tax $$ (see below)

150T$ over run on Islands Waste etc

-

Note the Cannery paid 3rd installation plus the 300T forwarded PR from MFA loan

And the Oona River Gym 72T$

(see below)

From Checks over 5T$

When I questioned why any further $$ given to North Pacific Cannery --- I was told the ‘ultimatum’ (see right) applied to next year – I read out their motion where specified 2009 – but was dismissed

We take care of ‘our own’

From minutes to 22 May SQCRD meeting

The Electoral Areas get Gas Tax money – presumably the 115T$ based upon per capita amount --- note Reserves make up most this population – but $$ used by say Oona River etc

Old Boys part 2 --- ‘Neo-Colonialism’

More Later

On Travis resigning and Derelict cars

Bottom Line

Rupert Taxpayers subsidize the North Pacific Cannery – I will check up on what percentage

And we will ‘for ever’ unless/ until local taxpayers ask for > accountability --- Or get rid of the ‘old boys’ as local government

Plus 1st Nations population ‘subsidize’ the Electoral Areas --- where white minority appears to be only ones that vote (or not as both candidates won by acclamation in last election)
