Two triggers for Federal EA: Fisheries Act and Navigable waters

(see here for EA description)

Again Area A crabbers had the most concerns – assured there will only be a 50 meter exclusion zone around each tower etc – though specific talks to be held Thursday with Area A –

Will there be compensation if excluded etc --- what if gear drags and moves during bad weather?

Claimed to be one of richest areas for Dungeness crabs catch – but specific data lacking to Naikun etc to show that

I was interested in the cable coming over to mainland

Will go into the details later once I receive good JPG of substrate below Hecate Straits etc

Skill Fair at Civic Center

Great talent & skills on display

‘Success by 16’ – youth most over looked asset in PR --- from sports to art to scholarship etc

Cheers for the City

The Innlander sidewalk was a potential pedestrian hazard – so City did right thing and removed the unsupported section – and is now in process of putting up a railing --- Blue arrow points to hooks put in to hook up safety gear so keep workers from falling over side

DPA and great views

Many of the good views are maintained by owners removing trees that block view on City Property --- should be a policy --- as often the slope may become unstable or worse so ‘view protected’ --- examples (links: along CN tracks to Seal Cove etc)

After Winter Storm in 2007 and in June 2007
